SQlab added to the Saddle Library!

SQlab added to the Saddle Library!

Easily the most important contact point on a bike, the saddle. The one that came spec'd on your bike, more than likely is not what might work best for you. Our Saddle Library has been a huge success in allowing riders to demo saddles without having to commit to buying what can be an expensive and easily mis-guided endeavor.

The right bike saddle isn’t just about comfort—it’s about performance, injury prevention, and making every ride more enjoyable. A poorly fitting saddle can cause numbness, chafing, lower back pain, and even long-term issues with posture and pelvic alignment. Everyone’s body is different, and factors like sit bone width, riding position, and riding style all affect what saddle will work best. Whether you’re riding singletrack, racing crits, or cruising bike paths, a proper fitting saddle allows you to ride longer, more efficiently, and with far less discomfort. It’s one of the most important contact points on your bike—and often the most overlooked.

A few companies have heard about our Saddle Library and are wanting to be a part of it. Having more offerings only means that you, as the rider, stand... err... sit to benefit from what is available.

SQlab

SQlab has sent over some of their popular options. They are actually my saddle of choice when it comes to supporting my personal derrière on the bike. I was fortunate enough to stumble across their 611 Ergowave model years ago, and while I disliked it at first (so much so that I almost included it with a bike I was selling), I tried it again and found the step shape to keep me settled in the optimal position. We received a handful of models, with each one having a different level of padding based on the type of bike it gets mounted to.

611 - Ideal for mountain bikers who love long tours and challenging, technical terrain. Its wave-shaped profile supports the sit bones and reduces pressure on the perineum – perfect for an aggressive trail position. With Kevlar reinforcement and firm padding, it is built to last.

612 - Performance-oriented saddle for road and MTB athletes. Its sleek shape and raised rear support efficient pedaling in sporty seating positions. The dip provides relief for the perineal area.

614 - Optimized for gravel use, with ergonomic efficiency without compromising comfort. The slim saddle tapering in combination with the additional padding compared to a road bike saddle, makes it the perfect companion for every gravel ride and combines the best of the road bike and mountain bike worlds.

6OX - Ideal saddle for demanding E-MTB, all-mountain and enduro riders who don't want to compromise on support, comfort and durability. Developed for intensive use on rough trails and long tours, it offers a robust construction, well thought-out ergonomics and innovative technologies for maximum riding pleasure - even under the toughest conditions.

We have multiple widths available in each of the models. Not sure what width is best for you? Come into the shop and have your sit bones measured so that we are better able to suggest what is best for your comfort.

SQlab & Active Technology

SQlab's active saddle technology enables the pelvis to move laterally while riding, reducing strain on the lower spine, pelvis, and hips, and relieving the discs and facet joints. This makes cycling more comfortable and helps prevent back pain. The strength of the lateral movement can be adjusted to the rider's weight using the three elastomers supplied.
