Cyclepath x Open Cycle: A Weekend of Demo Bikes and Culinary Adventures

Two days of riding, Open Cycle demos, and a forest meal in the Gifford Pinchot!

August 1st: Cyclepath PDX (NW Thurman) | August 2nd: Gifford Pinchot National Forest

Get ready for a gravel-fueled, culinary adventure like no other. We are thrilled to announce a two-day event hosted by Cyclepath and OPEN Cycle, in partnership with OMTM, Maurten Nutrition, Gado Gado/Oma’s Hideaway, and Nossa Familia Coffee

We’re heading into the lush, shaded high country of the Gifford Pinchot National Forest to escape the August heat, ride some epic terrain, and share incredible food.

Saturday, August 1st: 9am - 5pm

Open Demo Day & Parking Lot Party

Kick off the weekend in our NW parking lot. Whether you've been eyeing a new ride or just want to experience the latest from OPEN, this is your chance. We’ll have a fleet of OPEN demo bikes available for reservation and a quick spin in Forest Park, including the UP/UPPER 2.0 and the WIDE 2.0.

  • Location: Cyclepath PDX -NW Thurman
  • Demo Slots: Book a 90 min demo HERE
  • Tech & Tips: Our team and the Open crew will be on-site to handle sizing and setup
  • Fuel & Coffee: Come hang out, chat about bikes, and get fueled with some Nossa Famila Coffee!
  • Bring: Pedals, credit card and a license

The Falls Creek Supper Club Ride

The main event takes us deep into the Gifford Pinchot high country. We've curated two incredible route variations that stage out of the beautiful, creekside Hemlock Recreation Site.

  • Start: Hemlock Picnic Area 
  • Epic Gravel Route: 8:00 a.m. departure, 42 mile gravel ride
  • All-road Option: 10:00 a.m. departure, 25 mile "all-road" (20% gravel) ride

DIY Pace: There are no official leaders or pace for the rides. We encourage you to explore the beautiful scenery, ride at your pace, and all riders can join at the end for a community feast!

At the start:

  • Nossa Familia Cofee
  • Maurten Fuel
  • Open demo bikes. Reserve a bike for the day HERE

 Mid-Ride Support: 

Both routes will have a mid-ride support station with extra fuel and water!

After the ride: The Supper Club Feast!

 After the ride, Chef Tom Pisha-Duffly (Gado Gado/Oma’s Hideaway) is putting together an incredible post-ride spread.

Meal tickets are limited to 100 riders

The menu:

  • Roti Schwarma with charcoal-grilled coconut lemongrass chicken (curried cauliflower vegetarian option).
  • Flaky Malaysian flatbread, preserved lemon and nigella seed chutney, and cucumber mint raita.
  • Sides: Cold peanut and scallion noodles, and Oma’s pickles.
  • Condiments: Fried shallots, crispy curry chickpeas, and house red chili sambal.
  • Allergens: sesame, peanuts, wheat, soy, alliums. Noodles can be made without peanut sauce. Gluten free unfortunately cannot be accomodated

  • Pre-Ride Camping: Looking to make a weekend of it? We suggest a DIY campout at the beautiful Beaver Campground
  • Cost: $50 ticket includes coffee, Maurten fuel, mid-ride support, and a catered post ride meal and beverages
  • Want to join the ride but skip the food? Ride/route participation is free!
