Cyclepath West (formerly Fat Tire Farm) and Cyclepath East (MLK Jr.)

When news broke in March that Fat Tire Farm would end its run at NW 27th and Thurman at Forest Park after 40 years in business, it deflated cyclists' spirits across the city. Losing yet another bike shop on the west side of town, especially one with a legacy like FTF, was a massive blow for off-road cycling lovers around the region. Fortunately, the owner of FTF reached out to us with a desire to pass the torch, and we jumped at the chance. After several frantic weeks, we are excited to announce that tomorrow, Wednesday, May 21st, we will officially open Cyclepath West!!

Michael Jellinek (Cyclepath) and Park Chambers (FTF)

Not only will Portland retain a bike shop at the former FTF location, but Cyclepath West will also offer a wider selection of bikes and accessories. Fat Tire Farm was legendary for their focus on high-quality mountain bikes, and we will continue to carry the torch, offering our own in-house suspension company Shock Therapy Suspension Works, and bikes from our brand partners Pivot, Transition, Ibis, Forbidden, Specialized, Devinci, and more. Beyond just mountain bikes, we will be stocking a curated selection of gravel and road bikes (similar to what we carry at our Martin Luther King Jr store, which will now be called Cyclepath East) and all the necessary parts and accessories. In addition to bikes (electric and analog), parts, clothing, and accessories, Cyclepath West will take advantage of Forest Park’s proximity and stock a selection of trail running shoes and accessories as well.

To kick things off, we're offering 15% off anything in-stock*, store-wide at both locations, through June 1st. Also, Pivot Trail 429's are 30% off, Shuttle AM's are 25% off, and if you buy a frame, get 30% off parts! Swing by, come say hi, and help us make Cyclepath West a successful new shop in support of the cycling and running community in NW Portland!
