Oregon's bicycle excise tax

The 2017 Oregon Legislature passed House Bill 2017, which included a new bicycle excise tax. The Oregon bicycle excise tax is a flat tax of $15, to be collected at the point-of-sale starting January 1, 2018. Revenue from the bicycle excise tax goes into the Connect Oregon Fund to provide grants for bicycle and pedestrian transportation projects.

***When you purchase a bicycle through our web store that meets the criteria, we will be collecting the tax when you pick up your bicycle from our NE Portland Retail Store. Thank you for your understanding!***

Revel Bikes Rover Frame and Fork
$2,400.00
A gravel bike from Revel? Yep, we’re better known for our shreddy mountain bikes with legendary CBF suspension, but a little-known fact is most of us here at Revel ride gravel bikes at least as much as we ride mountain bikes. We’re also the same people behind Why Cycles and their R+, giving us a pretty good pedigree for designing modern gravel bikes. We’re materials geeks at heart, and we always like to use the right material for the application. However, gravel bikes are where the waters get a little muddy. We’ve been refining the titanium R+ since we launched it in 2016 and it has gotten glowing reviews, but we all wanted a carbon version too. We knew we could make a great gravel bike by taking full advantage of the ability to shape carbon exactly how we want and truly optimize the ride quality. We designed the frame and fork from the ground up, with just the right amount of damping to smooth out those long gravel roads. Our engineers were able to work some magic to give this bike the best combination of tire clearance and chainring clearance of any gravel bike on the market while retaining the fully guided internal cable routing that makes setting up Revels a breeze. Prioritizing versatility in its use, we designed the Rover around the SRAM Universal Derailleur Hanger and loaded the frame up with 4 sets of bottle bosses to ensure the Rover will be right at home at a gravel race start line or on backroads adventures.
Niner RLT 9 Aluminum 2-Star Sram Apex 1X
$2,599.00
The unmatched versatility of this gravel bike gives its rider pure, unfettered freedom and access virtually everywhere. Sprint from asphalt to cinder path, swerve onto some singletrack, cut across to a gravel road, unspool a few miles, hop a gutter, cut through the alley, and back into the bike lane. The RLT 9 maximizes your freedom and access to the Road Less Traveled. With affordable, high performing materials, elegant engineering, and a fully-featured frameset, there’s nothing stopping you from achieving your off road aspirations. There’s no surface that can’t be ridden, no side roads that must be skipped. And best of all, the RLT 9 offers unbeatable value at every level. Niner’s 6061 aluminum RLT 9 is welded with hydroformed aluminum tubing. This material is universally praised for affordability and versatility. Before welding, we are careful to shape the tubing to optimize strength, durability, stiffness, all the while keeping it as lightweight as possible. The latest version of our vaunted aluminum gravel frame features a new, forged chainstay yoke to improve tire clearance and stiffness. This design leaves us with an elegant and simple multi-talented platform.
Niner RLT 9 Steel 2-Star Sram Apex 1X
$3,149.00
The RLT 9 Steel is for the purist, the rider who’s after the classic aesthetics of smooth, supple steel. Whether it’s on pavement or gravel road, this bike craves long adventures. With plenty of room for all your gear, the only thing stopping you from your next ride is your imagination. Go ahead, take the ride of your dreams with the RLT 9 Steel. In practical terms, Reynolds 853 is a nearly perfect material for creating bike frames. Rather than being weakened by heat, the frame tube junctions actually strengthen after TIG welding. This allows the use of thinner, lighter frame tubes without any sacrifice in durability or strength. Additionally, steel-framed bicycles have a well-earned reputation for rugged, dependable reliability. Steel has a way of brushing off the inevitable scratches, dings, and rough treatment that accompanies the best adventures. No matter if you have a cross-continent excursion or a county line commute, the RLT 9 steel loves to be loaded up and rolled out.
Open UP
$3,200.00
The first U.P. combined road bike speed plus go-anywhere capabilities to start a whole new category. Now original U.P. features such as dual wheel size compatibility and a dropped chainstay are the standard for performance gravel bikes. -With road tires, it is a very fast road bike -With big road/cross/gravel tires (32-40mm), it’s a go-anywhere bike perfect for mixed surface rides and most gravel routes -With 650b mountain bike tires, it's unstoppable on very tough terrain yet much faster on pavement than you'd expect thanks to the road position So the position lets you get out of town and reach the gravel/dirt/trails quickly (unlike a mountain bike). Space for big tires lets you tackle any route (unlike a road bike). And you can do that with one type of tire for everything or finetune your ride with multiple wheelsets or tires. The U.P. fits mountain bike and gravel tires up to 2.1” (54mm) in 650b. It also fits 700c gravel, cross and road tires from 28-40mm wide (exact tire sizes depend on manufacturing tolerances and rim width, so always check and make sure you have 6mm clearance between tire and frame). More importantly, and more difficult to achieve, the U.P. handles well in all these configurations, as customers, media and award judges confirm time and again. So whether you ride it with road or mountain bike tires, on pavement or off-road, you always have nimble, responsive and confidence-inspiring handling.
Niner RLT 9 RDO 2-Star Sram Apex 1X
$3,399.00
You want to not just go the distance but do go there fast? The RLT 9 RDO is a gravel bike made to make the miles sail past. Do you want to explore? This bike encourages it. How about undertaking long and adventurous rides? Please do. Need a change of pace, a break from the routine? Go ahead. Give it a chance. If you can think it on two wheels, the RLT, a multi-tool of a bike, might just be the bike for you. From dirt trails to gravel to asphalt, this bike takes everything in stride, with you along for the ride. Carbon fiber gets all the credit these days. It’s light, it’s stiff, and it’s infinitely variable in terms of size, shape, material properties, and strength. Ask any bike freak about the world’s best bikes, and 9 times out of 10, they’ll foam over like a simmering saucepan, raving about exotic Italian carbon fiber dream machines. To be clear, Niner’s RDO carbon fiber is light enough and stiff enough to satisfy the most selective gravel racers. We’re not afraid to brag that Niner riders have won a fair share of Unbound Gravels. But these days, “light, fast, strong, and stiff” is easy. Get ready to swoon. With more tire clearance than ever before, the RLT 9 RDO can accommodate tires as wide as 700x50c. Does your next ride require more rubber on the road? Not to worry, swapping out wheels is easy. This bike can accommodate 650b wheels and fit tires as wide as 2.0. Go wild with wheel and tire combinations, just keep it rubber side down out there.
Cervelo Soloist 105
$3,400.00
The Soloist. It's a name from deep in our history, but immediately familiar to anyone with bike racing memories extending back to the early-2000s. It was the weapon of choice for top World Tour contenders on CSC and the Cervelo Test Team, and we're bringing it back for a new generation. The new Soloist is designed for the week-in, week-out rider and racer who can only justify one high-performance bike. It balances light weight and aerodynamic advantages to deliver a bike that really is 'just right'. Soloist comes in a hair lighter than S5, but significantly more aerodynamic than R5, and borrows the threaded bottom bracket standard you find on the R5-CX. It's a race bike that can accommodate mechanical and electronic shifting, can hammer out the training miles in all weather, and yet still has the chops to leap off the front at that decisive moment. That's the Soloist.
Niner RLT 9 Aluminum 4-Star Shimano GRX 800 1X
$3,449.00
The unmatched versatility of this gravel bike gives its rider pure, unfettered freedom and access virtually everywhere. Open WIDE
$3,500.00
The OPEN U.P. inspired a generation of gravel bikes that could fit up to 2.1” tires. The WI.DE. (Winding Detours) can run even bigger tires while still fitting road cranks! The monster tires help you conquer the most extreme terrain, the performance geometry & narrow Q-factor keep you efficient while the steering geometry keeps you nimble. -With 650b gravel or mountain bike tires up to 2.4”(61mm), rutted singletrack, slippery roots and loose rocks are no match -With 700c gravel tires up to 46mm, even the toughest gravel roads are tackled at lightning speed -With 700c road tires (we recommend 35-40mm wide), you have the most comfortable road bike ever invented The WI.DE. goes one better. By dropping both chainstays, the monostay just behind the bottom bracket becomes a very efficient box structure. This increases BB stiffness, reduces weight and squeezes even more tire clearance out of the frame. Most riders know that with the right bike geometry, even big tires can be fast. The WI.DE. takes this to the extreme. Of course a massive tire is not as fast as a pure road tire, but the delta is small enough that it doesn’t detract from the on-road fun. And off-road, there is no comparison. The WI.DE. retains its agility with anything from massive mountain tires to road tires.

Open MIND
$3,900.00
This is a very different OPEN yet it answers the same question: What do we want to ride? While we love pushing the envelope, we also love the classic bike aesthetic. In the MIN.D. both come together. Cervelo Caledonia Ultegra
$4,200.00
A BIKE FOR THE WAY RIDERS RIDE Caledonia doesn't fit in a box nicely, and we like it that way. It was conceived on our Thursday night rides-routes that often play fast and loose with 'road ride.' As we tried to stuff bigger tires into our R5s and streamline our Asperos, a new kind of bike was born. When we design a bike, we start with our library of tube shapes. These shapes are tubes we've used on other models that we know to have various qualities-aerodynamic, stiff, ultralight, etc.-and they help get us to the refinement stage on a bike more quickly. In the case of Caledonia, we wanted durability, lightweight, and aerodynamics to be in balance and selected a package that achieved the performance demands of this kind of race bike. Caledonia uses a standard round bar, stem, and seat post, giving riders the option to build their ultimate ride without compromise. Integrated accessory mounts and hidden fender mounts keep the bike's refined lines so you can ride with lights and computers in a downpour and still look fast. Because we all know if it looks fast, it probably is. Rather than designing multiple versions of the bike with various fit profiles (R5, R-Series, etc.) like we've done in the past, we designed a system that enables a broad range of fits on a single bike while maintaining the aesthetic and functional cleanliness we demand. Modern road riders are looking for bikes to handle long-distance, high pace, no limits, and offer maximum fun. By placing lower modulus carbon in key areas to mitigate the brittleness of hi-mod fiber-the Caledonia delivers performance, comfort, and speed. Oh, and you can fit a 34mm tire in there. Or 31mm with fenders.
Cervelo Aspero GRX RX810
$4,300.00
HAUL ASS, NOT CARGO A new breed of rider is emerging-one who loves the freedom and exploration that gravel culture was founded upon but who has a hunger to ride hard, to go all out, and to explore not just geography but personal limits. This frontier requires a new kind of gravel machine, one engineered not to roam the trails, but to race them. For these athletes, we engineered Aspero for pure, unapologetic speed, ready to take down finish lines, KOMs, PRs, and FKTs. A bike built without limits, for the riders looking to test them. It's stiff, Classics-racing stiff, and performs like you'd want a road bike to perform off-road. We think that makes sense, and it's what we were trying to do when we were stuffing bigger tires into our existing frames and swapping in aftermarket forks to get a 40mm tire up front. The flip-chip in the fork-we call it the Trail Mixer-keeps the trail measurement consistent whether you choose 700c or 650b tires. This maintains the bike's personality and handling characteristics when you switch from mid-fats to full-fat. There are as many different ways to do gravel as there are gravel bikes these days, but if you're toeing the start line, looking to stay with the lead group, and contend for the victory, Aspero is the bike to get you there.

Its right at home at the start line of a marathon race, all day in the mountains or just rallying the local trails after work. Welcome to the Ranger- a bike that takes modern XC suspension to a whole new level. The CBF™ focuses the center of curvature in a very finite area on the chainline/top of the chainring, pointing the pedaling forces directly where you want them.

By placing lower modulus carbon in key areas to mitigate the brittleness of hi-mod fiber-the Caledonia delivers performance, comfort, and speed. Oh, and you can fit a 34mm tire in there. Or 31mm with fenders.
Niner RLT 9 RDO 4-Star Shimano GRX 800 2X
$4,799.00
