-How long have you worked in the bike industry? Approximately 27 years

-What's the most challenging repair or custom job you've done on a bike? There have been many. Buy me a beer or two and I'll disclose many tales of bike tomfoolery!

-What is your favorite type of riding? A good road ride with friends always seems to lift the spirits!

-Can you share your most memorable bike related memory? 

There are so many good ones that it's hard to choose. Riding my first bike, a red Schwinn banana seat cruiser. Winning a national championship on the track. 


-What is your favorite part about cycling? 

Freedom and quiet.


-What steps do you think that cycling organizations can take to increase diversity and inclusivity among their members? 

Be friendly and inviting. 


-In what way/s are you involved in the local bike community? 

I would say that I am not that involved in the local bike community except for repairing peoples bikes for them. It is something that I want to fix in the coming year. I do coaching and ride leading for different cancer organizations that hold fundraising rides across the country every year. 


-What do you like to do outside of biking? 

Hiking and camping. Spending time with my family.


-What is your favorite local bike route? 

Cemetery loop. It's quick and challenging. 


-Have you ever competed in any bike races/events? How was that experience? 

Yes. I raced bikes at a decent level for over 10 years and I still dabble here and there. For me it was a life changing experience. 


-What do you think is the biggest misconception about cycling?

That it's easy…
